The Batman successfully adapts some of the best elements from Batman: Year One and Batman: The Long Halloween leaving many details for comic book fans.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is a miraculous masterpiece, especially for someone like me who believed there is not going to be a better batman film than The Dark Knight(2008). This iteration of masked vigilante is a realistic, violent and most comic book accurate version you would see in live-action. This Batman uses punches and his grey cells to fight crime, substantiating his title as the world’s greatest detective. That is why even if we remove the superhero theme from the script, the movie is still a great crime thriller. Also, It doesn’t shy away from self-critiquing the idea of Batman while making a striking commentary of America’s socio-political scenario.

Moreover, the movie successfully adapts some of the best elements from Batman: Year One and Batman: The Long Halloween leaving many details for comic book fans. Although The Dark Knight had a better script and philosophy, The Batman has much better aesthetics, visualization and music. If the third act had been slightly trimmed, this movie would have been a cent percent perfect film.

Robert Pattinson’s Batman is the Best cinematic Batman of our generation. I am someone who has been rooting for Zach Snyder’s version of the hero, except the character’s age that would deny any possibility of continuous cross-overs. Matt Reeve’s Batman fills that gap, and I wish the upcoming flash movie resets the DC timeline.
